Infants

(Ages 6 weeks – 12 months old)

The focus in our infant room is on physical development, healthy environments, tummy playtime and peaceful cuddle time.It is our belief that babies develop best through one-on-one interaction: eye contact, talking, singing and snuggling. Bright Beginnings understands the importance of early education and that is why we are one of the few preschools in this area to offer infant care.

We believe an infant needs a safe and secure place where exploration and discovery are just the beginning for their developmental journey. Our Angel Fish group teachers have special training in infant care and early education. We sing, read, cuddle and stimulate their senses through play to develop strong minds and bodies. Our program emphasizes the importance of age appropriate activities and toys to provide a healthy early learning environment through movement, exploration and communication.

Toddlers

(Ages 12 months – 36 months old)

During the first three years of life children are discovering many important things about themselves and the world around them – they are learning who they are, how they relate to the people in their lives and how people respond to them. During this time their brains are being “wired” into patterns for emotional, social, physical and cognitive development. By providing nurturing, responsive care, our teachers ensure that children experience the positive interactions they need to develop a strong sense of autonomy and self-confidence. In addition, our programs foster development of sensory, large and small motor, cognitive and language skills by providing a variety of stimuli and activities each day.

Classroom experiences for children include listening to music, working with developmentally appropriate toys and materials such as blocks, nesting toys, pull and push toys, manipulatives, puzzles, and dolls. Gross motor development is encouraged using indoor soft climbing structures as well as playing outside on our beautiful playgrounds. Most importantly, interactive experiences with teachers throughout the day include singing, talking, book readings, rocking, finger-plays, puppets and one on one communications, bonding and play. At Bright Beginnings our hands on childcare programs shape your toddler’s brain, behavior and health. We encourage their natural ability to explore the world around them, while also developing their cognitive, social and language skills to prepare them for preschool learning. In our two year old room we introduce our students to our Creative Curriculum program which encourages them to identify letters, color, shapes, numbers and sounds. They are learning to communicate their thoughts and very eager to show their independence.

Pre-Kindergarten

(3 years – 5 years old)

From 36 to 60 months of age children experience significant growth in four general areas of development: social/emotional; physical; cognitive and language. Based on The Creative Curriculum for Preschool developed by Teaching Strategies, Inc. of Washington, DC, our preschool program is designed to address all of these important developmental areas. This is a primary reason why our program has a “whole child” focus.Rather than limiting program time to developing only cognitive and language skills, for instance, equal time is spent with activities that foster social, emotional and physical development.Our preschool curriculum incorporates a careful combination of activities throughout the day with a learn-through-play methodology.

A hallmark of the transition from 2 to 3 is the discovery of the world of peers. Three-year-olds love being with each other at this age, and we give them plenty of time for unstructured, imaginative play — which helps them develop language skills! This is the age that books are key. They begin to understand that the words remain the same every time they’re read. Also, at the end of this year, many threes are able to pick out sounds at the beginning of a word and to recognize rhymes, which are critical skills for reading success. Most kids this age can count to at least to 10 if not much higher. The aim this year is to help them put numbers into everyday use, such as counting out four spoons for the four friends at their table. By the end of the year, threes should be able to take out — and put away. In our classroom, things are organized in such a way that students can help themselves to what they need to start a game or complete a project to foster their independence. Our 3 year olds will learn the necessary skills to make the next transition to kindergarten preparedness!

Kindergarten isn’t what it used to be… some educators say it’s more like what first grade used to look like a generation or more ago. Because we understand the importance of KINDERGARTEN READINESS, our preschool teachers take special care to help children develop the skills needed for a successful transition into kindergarten. As much as possible, the development of such skills is encouraged through creative use of early reading, writing, counting, classroom responsibilities and appropriate social behavior throughout the activities in which the children engage with each other every day. Our four year old program is designed to grow your child’s intelligence, physical and social development and prepare them for a life long love of school!

VPK stands for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, and it is an education program funded through the Florida Department of Education. The state of Florida guarantees a year of pre-kindergarten preschool education free of charge to every child who is 4 years of age by Sept. 1st. The goal of the VPK education program is to enable every child to be ready to learn by the time he or she enters kindergarten. Several area preschools are certified to offer free VPK programs, but there are tremendous differences in quality! Our center provides a fantastic learning environment complete with a library, computer room, numerous planned learning activities, and highly trained and nurturing teachers. We’re your best choice to provide your child with the necessary skills to enter kindergarten!

We offer winter break, spring break and summer camps. Our camps offer fun indoor and outdoor activities, arts and crafts, computers, games and more! Our younger campers stay on campus at our safe, secure facility to enjoy many fun activities. While our campers age 5 though 12 years old also enjoy fun off campus field trips including bowling, skating and more! Multi-week, and sibling discounts are available.
